STRATEGIC REPORT
Operational walk‑throughs form an important part of the agenda, linking discussion to what happens on site. These sessions allow participants to see systems, controls and behaviours in practice and support constructive conversations about how safe systems of work are applied and where further improvements can be made across the Group. Hazard identification and contractor engagement We manage workplace risks through our Hazard Identification Ticket (HIT) process, which allows hazards to be reported, tracked and closed out in a consistent way. In 2025, 2,724 HITs were raised, representing a 41% increase since 2024. This reflects higher awareness and greater willingness to report hazards across the business. Employees can
Digital enablement Health and safety reporting and auditing continue to move onto the Evotix platform, with tablets now available on sites to support mobile access. Key site personnel have completed initial training, with further training built into ongoing site programmes. Dashboards have been agreed and are in the final stages of formatting to reflect Lucy Group standards. Guidance for senior site management and Directors is being rolled out to support a smooth implementation and ensure data is ready for integration. Together, these steps are strengthening how health and safety information is captured, reviewed and used, improving oversight and performance across the Group.
Collaboration The annual Lucy Group Health and Safety Forum brings together health and safety leads from across the business to share experience, discuss common challenges and agree priorities. The sessions provide structured time to talk openly about key risks, operational issues and changes in regulation, helping to ensure a consistent approach to health and safety across the Group. A strong focus of the forums is on building practical capability and improving risk awareness. External fire risk assessment training was used to strengthen understanding of fire prevention, compliance and emergency planning, including the specific risks linked to Automated Tank Gauging (ATG) systems and lithium battery technologies.
submit HITs through the Document Management System based HIT site, with information feeding directly into the HIT dashboard. This allows hazards and actions to be monitored in real time and improves overall visibility and follow‑up. Contractor safety is an established provided with clear information and training to ensure they understand and work to Group standards. As direct procurement has increased within our property development business, we have started recording contractor safety data to strengthen oversight and assurance across the supply chain. Incident reporting, investigation and learning All incidents and accidents across the Group are recorded and reported. Each event is investigated using established methods, including root cause analysis, to understand what went wrong and what needs to change. Actions are put in place to address the causes and reduce the risk of similar events happening again. Learning from these investigations is shared where relevant and used to strengthen risk controls. Safety data is reviewed each month to highlight trends and areas of higher risk. This information is used to decide where additional controls, training or engineering changes are needed, so effort is focused where it will make the most difference. To monitor performance and drive improvement, we track core safety indicators: | Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) : 3.9 in 2025 (calculated per 1,000 employees), representing a 24.3% reduction compared to 2024. | Frequency Rate (FR) : 0.15 in 2025 (measured per 100,000 hours worked), a decrease from 0.22 in 2024, though it remains an area of continued focus. part of our health and safety arrangements.
